Fantasy’s outstanding 7 day Mexico “CAR”-a-van provides a unique travel opportunity to the vacationer who wants to experience the culture of Northern Mexico without an RV or the regimentation of a bus tour. This Mexico vacation via your own private vehicle gives you a chance to have independent travel while enjoying the comfort of your car, truck or van…anything on wheels, except NO RVs please! We minimize driving and maximize the enjoyment with Fantasy’s experienced Wagonmasters who escort you on this incredible trek.
Our first stop in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico lies right in the heart of Pottery History at Mata Ortiz. You’ll taste a few specialties of the Chihuahua Region and visit the Casas Grandes ancient ruins at Paquime. In Creel you learn the unique ancient culture and history of the Tarahumara natives. You view the "Grand Canyon of Mexico," four times larger than our Grand Canyon, from a revolving gondola suspended high over the canyon floor.
Your local licensed guide will take you on a tour of the Creel area and an excursion to Divisadero, with great Top of the Canyon views and lunch right on the magnificent Rim. After a short drive south to Cuauhtémoc, the group takes a tour of the Mennonite community, dines on local homemade food prepared by Mennonite families.

Today when Fantasy guests catch their first startling glimpse of the canyon cutting deeper into the earth than the Grand Canyon… all things seem dwarfed by its grandeur.
The closer you get, the more you see. The canyon walls climb from desert flora to high pine forests, wrapping around fertile valleys dotted with crystalline mountain lakes. Intricate twists of the canyon reveal waterfalls, wildlife, archeological sites and the dwellings of the shy Tarahumara Indians, called the most primitive tribe still living in North America. More than 50,000 semi-nomadic natives still live in this region in the traditional style of their ancestors.
The ancient explorers in Copper Canyon had some advantage over contemporary travelers; on foot or horse, they could more easily get an eyeful of this mystical land without a partner nervously reminding them to keep their eyes on the road.
We have incorporated Copper Canyon into many of our Mexico tours... How could we not want to share a place so magical?
