If you have traveled the normal tourist areas of Australia, but are looking for a real Down Under experience, then we have the adventure for you. We start in Australia’s only island state, Tasmania, and spend 5 days enjoying the stunning scenery, imposing rock formations, postcard-perfect beaches and some of the cleanest air in the world. We then explore Melbourne to watch the Penguin Parade. We proceed along the coast, following the Great Ocean Road’s rugged coastline for spectacular scenery, and travel into the Outback, heading up the “Track” to Coober Pedy for a night in the underground hotel. Continuing up the Stuart Highway we next visit Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock), a 650-million-year-old sandstone behemoth, then to Alice Springs, the Red Centre of Australia. A city tour and a cruise of Darwin Harbor completes our exploration of The Great Southern Land, Australia.
