It’s that time of year for giving...12-year-old Dylan Prunty (our founder, Nel Filliger’s, grandson) is at it again with his 5th Annual Lego Drive.
This little guy just can’t help but think of others, especially at Christmas in the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. There are so many children in the hospital who are less fortunate and receive few if any gifts. Our LEGO drive makes sure every child in the hospital receives a LEGO set.
Last year we raised enough LEGOs for every child in not only the LA Children's Hospital but also UMC Children's Hospital in Las Vegas, home of Fantasy RV Tours Corporate Office. You all have been so generous in the past and we hope you'll help us reach our goal of 500 LEGO sets.
Fantasy RV Tours employees are heading up the drive this year for the family and ask that LEGOs be mailed to our office to be received by December 17th.
We are also continuing the Christmas meal project for the families in Pediatrics ICU where Dylan has spent the majority of his life the last 6 years. We are collecting gift cards from Vons, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Del Taco, Wendy’s and Subway (all within walking distance from the hospital), to be given to each family in PICU. In previous years these gift cards provided the first meal of the day on Christmas Eve to a PICU family, while comforting another after the loss of their child earlier that day.
In order to be fair to each child we are asking for LEGOs in the price range of $15 to $20. We are in are in need of:
- 300 Duplo LEGO sets – for Neonatal ICU babies up to 3 yrs old
- 100 Jr LEGO sets – 3 to 6 yrs old & older for children who have a hard time holding small pieces
- 100 Regular LEGO sets
- 24 PICU Christmas meal gift cards – a $30 card will feed 5 family members
