Traveling in Numbers
June 1, 2019
Taking to the road in the company of others is hardly a new concept. Modern caravanning echoes a tradition that goes back a long ways: Nomads, Gypsies, wagon trains. It was a good idea then and it’s a good idea now.
A lot of us choose to travel this way because caravanning is an easy means to catch those bucket list destinations without the hassle of planning every single detail of the trip itself. And your caravan company will make all reservations beforehand. However, even though you’re on an organized and stress-free excursion, your rig isn’t tied to the bumper of the RV in front of you. If you’re thinking one big convoy, you’d be thinking wrong.
Caravans offer flexibility on campground departure and arrival times. Of course, you might want to schedule your travel so not to miss any activities, but breaking ranks is always an opportunity for independent-minded travelers to explore on their own. And by choosing a prearranged tour, you’re not likely to miss any highlights on your way to a specific destination.
Interested yet? Here’s perhaps the most fun part of traveling in a group: friends and camaraderie! Keep in mind, we’re a herd species, and making new acquaintances and reestablishing old ones are part of what makes caravanning so special. Expect a good many social events to help you bond with people who have similar interests.
Okay, so you’re not the type to sing Kumbaya around a campfire. There’s still comfort in knowing there are others close by when you go to bed at night, particularly in an unfamiliar place like Mexico, Alaska or overseas.
Good Sam Club can help you realize your dream of going on an RV caravan because it partners with Fantasy RV Tours, an experienced company that offers caravans (and rallies) to destinations within and beyond our own borders. Don’t worry about rigid schedules or dull traveling parties for old timers. Each expedition caters to a full range of pursuits and activity levels. Care to snorkel in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef or relax on a Baja beach? Meet polar bears on the Hudson Bay or cast a fishing line in Homer, AK?
Since you’re a member of Good Sam Club, you can take advantage of multiple tour perks: $50 off rallies and $100 off caravans with Fantasy RV Tours. Where ever you choose to find your next adventure, give caravanning a shot. You might like it.
